A lot of the 115 minutes are dull, but it also has the uncanny ability to tug at the heartstrings in the moments that really count. The climax in particular is beautifully handled, which makes the confounding nature of the rest of the script all the more frustrating.

That it limits itself to just 92 minutes is really the only saving grace in what is a disappointing end (one hopes) to a series that started out so well. Filled with banality and provoking yawns ahead of laughs, there is very little to recommend Shrek the Third to anyone but the most loyal of viewers.

TMNT will probably hook the kids in the way the cartoon once did, but it offers nothing for the adults. For people my age there’s a certain rush of nostalgia to be embraced, but it’s not worth your 14 bucks.

As a movie it is charming and fun although a little trite and predictable in places, but as an educational tool on behalf of those who believe that humankind will be the death of all non-human Earth-bound life, it is breathtaking.

This is the single most forcefully emotive film I’ve seen in a long while, and whilst the specifics aren’t really too clear, the message seems to be ‘leave them alone’. And watching a film like this it’s hard to imagine that anyone would not want the best for these penguins.
