Yeah, there was a _lot_ of shaky cam. Quite surprising, for the Marvel movies.

Meh.
Enjoyed this to an extent, but pretty forgettable…
Except the opening sequence which featured the most egregious use of shaky cam in some years!

Rey in The Force Awakens certainly helped. We _may_ have reached a turning point.

Both Wonder Woman and Captain Marvel are on the horizon…and about time!

Disappointing to hear about the women – I’m frankly sick of not seeing enough agency for the female characters. It’s really not hard to say, ‘so, shall we make Scarlet Witch / Black Widow / Wonder Woman actually a central character who drives the plot and makes a difference to saving stuff so that audiences believe women are… Ummm… Strong and stuff too?’ You’re right – Whedon has managed to create some dimension in the females. But still not enough for me, and the thousands of young girls who need to see themselves onscreen, being brave and strong and smart and leading the charge. And doing this in a world where men are also super powerful. Ok, I think my rant is over. I’m still looking forward to this movie – and to Suicide Squad!

No, I didn’t! I should have it on my list though. Heard good things.

I know what you mean about the Marvel films. From what I’ve heard about Doctor Strange, however, it certainly will be…different…to the stuff we’ve seen before. They need to mix it up a bit!

Am fairly tired now of the whole Avengers thing, and the world seems to be crying out for an original cinema experience…

The recent Eye in the Sky, for example, is one of the tautest thrillers made in recent years, is profoundly disturbing, and remarkable for being an original screen story in this time of adaptations and sequels.

Did you see it by any chance?
