Ah, interesting to hear that those who liked the first film mightn’t like this one. I was wondering if I was just relying on the old fallback of being contrary to be cool 😉

It’s not really ok to just assume audiences will think the characters are indestructible as they aren’t human. The falling ship in the forest is the most obvious example but there are others where credibility is stretched just a little too far.

It’s a shame as there is a germ of a story underneath the bluster that could be worth telling, but the absence of concern for the characters physical well-being means that concern for their emotional well-being can get lost.

Sure, it passed the time. I was one of those who really enjoyed Vol.1 but this was quite unsatisfying.
