12 poster12

12 runs a mammoth 159 minutes and is filled with prolonged character development sequences that in the final assessment don't add enough value. The pacing suffers from the disconnection that can occur when far too many flashback sequences interrupt the flow of the main storyline, and the dramatic twist and eventual resolution border on absurd.

Simple Things posterSimple Things (Prostye veshchi)

It is after the entrance of Leonid Bronevoy as Zhuravlyov, however, that the film gains momentum. Much of the strength of the film lies in the relationship between the two men and their reactions to the needs of the other.

Vice posterVice (Tiski)

The film is presented by the Federal Drug Enforcement Agency of the Russian Federation, so it's clear that we're not in for a wacky, drug-induced journey, but rather a narrative that explores the insidious nature of trafficking, which is never going to be a fun ride.
