Chrysalis posterChrysalis

The washed-out blacks, greys and blues may be on the verge of becoming passe for this kind of feature, but in Chrysalis they are used to brilliant advantage. Paris becomes a nether world that leaves no-one unaffected by its malaise.

Could This Be Love? posterCould This Be Love? (Je crois que je l'aime)

Lindon is unfortunately just not appealing enough as Lucas to encourage the audience to wish them together, perhaps mostly due to the writing which at times makes him out to be a buffoon. How a man such as this can be believed to be the energetic leader of a major company is not clear.

Secret of the Grain, The posterThe Secret of the Grain (La Graine et le mulet)

The cast, many of whom appear here in their first feature film, are universally excellent, with standout performances from Boufares and particularly Herzi, who is simply wonderful as Rym and was rewarded with the Cesar for Best Young Female Hope.
